Linux Copy the font files (.ttf or .otf) to fonts:/// in the File manager.
Mac OS X Extract files using utility like Stuffit Expander. /Library/Fonts (for all users), or /Users/Your_username/ Library/ Fonts (for you only). If your OS includes the Font Book, you can as well double-click on a font file, then a preview pops with an "Install font" button.

    your instructions for installing the Mac OS font is unclear. Millions of users use the Macintosh platform. The C:\backslash prompt days are way over Macintosh is the way to go now.
